Fundraising for Beginners: Development 101

Designed for fundraisers new to the role and for fundraisers ready to learn (or relearn) the basics. It will break down the fundraising process and give your organization the tools needed to support its capital needs.

This three-part series will cover:

The basics of donor data management (CRM)
Understanding the role of the Executive Director (and the staff), the difference between a board member, the board, and the officers of the board
Direct mail fundraising
Fundraising events
Online giving
Board fundraising involvement

About the Speakers

CEO, Idaho Nonprofit Center Kevin Bailey

Kevin Bailey joined the Idaho Nonprofit Center in July of 2021 after previously serving as CEO of the United Way of Southeastern Idaho. He brings past experience in both the education and social impact sector both internationally and domestically having worked in both Uganda and Chile. Kevin has directed federal grant programs related to college access for first-generation students and also directed community programs supporting financial stability for families immigrating to the US. In his free time, he and his family love exploring the great beauty in the West by hiking, biking, and getting outside into nature. On Saturdays in the fall, you can find Kevin avidly cheering on his Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team!

COO & Head of Development, Idaho Nonprofit Center Evin Bask

Evin Bask is originally from Seattle and found her home here in Boise after completing her education at Boise State University. She later went on to receive her MBA with a concentration in nonprofit management which has led her to a career at the Idaho Nonprofit Center. Evin is a volunteer Wish Granter for Make-A-Wish and enjoys seeing the magic a wish can create. She is often found running on the greenbelt, petting a dog or experimenting with a new recipe.
